Ask Adam uses Remotix Agent to allow us to see what's on your screen and work on your computer over the internet. When Remotix Agent is installed in macOS Catalina and later, it needs you to explicitly give the app certain permissions before it can be used for remote support.
You'll see a window like this:
For our purposes, we need the first two permissions, Screen Recording and Accessibility, and we don't need the last two. Here's what to do:
- Click 'Request Screen Recording Permission'. You'll see this:
- Click 'Open System Preferences'. This will open System Preferences and take you directly to the Security & Privacy > Privacy > Screen Recording settings.
- In this window, if you see a closed lock in the bottom-left corner of the window, click on the lock and you'll be able to enter your computer password to unlock these settings.
- Check the box next to Remotix Agent to grant the Screen Recording permission.
You can then follow the same process to grant Accessibility permission to the Remotix Agent app.
Once you've set up Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions to Remotix Agent, you can then select 'Don't show again' and click 'Ignore' and you should not see the window again.
